COURSE DESCRIPTION The query letter is probably the most important piece of writing you'll have to craft. It is your calling card, your foot in the door. Anyone working on a novel, a nonfiction book, or a magazine or newspaper article needs to know how to write a query letter. (Who wouldn't use a query letter? Poets, short story writers, or some children's writers working on small (in length) projects.) In this email critiquing course you will learn all the do's and don'ts for winning query letters: what to say, what not to say, which format to use, which mistakes to avoid.. choose one project to propose, then with feedback from the instructor, you will get your one-page query letter critiqued--up to 4 drafts- and leave this course with a query letter ready to send out. Work at your own pace. You can finish in as little time as a week or take up to 4 weeks. In addition, you will be provided with sample query letters, tips and guidelines in our course library. The instructor is always available to answer your questions via email. INSTRUCTOR BIO
